Disaster Response Series Part II: A Hands-On Intensive Workshop

When: Thursday, May 2 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Where: Macculloch Hall Historical Museum, 45 Macculloch Ave. Morristown, NJ 07960

Registration closes at 5:00 on April 16 for those that attended part I. If you attended Part I, and would like to register for part II after this date, please email the AAP Coordinator aapcoordinator@gmail.com. 

EVENT DETAILS:

Description: Led by expert instructors from Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts (CCAHA). This half-day workshop builds on the Part I webinar by putting the lessons into action with hands-on triage activities. The workshop includes salvaging a variety of materials, site assessment, personal safety, object triage and tracking, and post-disaster briefing. 

  • Participation in Part I Webinar on April 16 is mandatory in order to attend Part II Workshop.

  • Participants should wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty and wet as well as closed-toed shoes. PPE will be provided by CCAHA.
  • Part of the program is held outdoors.
  • There will be light refreshments provided (coffee, tea, water and cookies)
  • Participants are welcome to bring their own lunch.
  • Capacity is limited. Advanced registration is required.
  • If you register and are unable to attend, please notify njassociationofmuseums@gmail.com as soon as possible so we may add colleagues from the waitlist.
  • Refunds will not be provided for day-of no shows or cancellations after Monday, April 29.


Workshop cost is $10 for members and $20 for non-members. There is also an option for new members to purchase an Individual Membership and their ticket in one transaction. Participation in the Part I webinar is mandatory in order to attend this Part II Workshop. Registration for both programs opens for Members on February 12, and March 1 for non-members.


We are able to offer this workshop as a much discounted fee thanks to a project grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission.
